  • Yearbook
PGHS publications took the top awards at the Columbia Scholastic Press Association Convention March 20 at Columbia University in New York.

The 2014 Hawk Yearbook received a Gold Crown, the top award, and the Edge newspaper/website received a Silver Crown. It was one of only 21 Gold Crown winning yearbooks in the nation, and the third consecutive Gold Crown for the yearbook. The newspaper was one of 34 publications in the nation receiving either a Gold or Silver Crown as a "hybrid" newspaper. Publications from across the country are judged together, regardless of school size.
"I'm so proud of our students and I'm thrilled that they've been recognized for their hard work," said adviser Charla Harris. "It's really an honor to be named a Crown winner, and to repeat is something special, especially since we're such a small school."
Both PG publications received Gold Crowns last year. Natalie Irwin and Courtney Harris edited the 2014 yearbook. Ashlyn Hurst was the 2014 newspaper editor.
